Baruti awoke from beneath the shade of the tree. The air was hot and light, and the sun’s glare from the smooth sand hurt his eyes, causing him to squint. He yawned, then stood and stretched, and stepped out into the sunlight. It was significantly hotter out from the shade, and Baruti turned, hesitant. “Maybe I should just stay.” he thought. He allowed the idea to play inside his head before deciding against it, and he turned again to leave. “I’ll probably find a better spot anyway”.
